Solar Cup
Welcome to the Solar Cup Keele 2009 .The Holidayworld Cup continues and this will be a great year in continuance of our annual event, now entering its 16th year. The successful l years we have had in the past in Liverpool will always be cherished but we must progress further and change with times so this year we offer the same successful formula, with a new venue.We have an improved location , improved accommodation , improved playing fields ,improved dining and improved accessibility to pitches and we have amended the name to The Solar Cup . This year we operate under the permission of our new hosts the Staffordshire Football Association We again invite teams with proper affiliation to participate from Ireland , the UK , and other countries especially Norway and Sweden and in particular from the Staffordshire and surrounding areas . This competition is operated on a world cup basis with qualifying groups of four teams from which teams qualify to the Knock out Stages . Every team will have a minimum of 4 matches . Teams not qualifying for the cup competition will qualify for the plate . Keele University is a stunning ideal setting for our football tournament , easy to get to and offering an abundance of attractions only within an hours drive .
